Job Type: Full-time

Essential Job Functions:

• Use accepted methods to inspect, sample and test aggregates, asphalt, or other materials for the purpose of quality control.
• Sample and test HMA mixtures for compliance with contract specifications and quality control tolerances.
• Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure our products meet or exceed requirements of the appropriate agency or customer.
• Perform functions as Inspector/Technician for MDOT projects.
• Perform calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
• Conduct routine Quality Control and product specification compliance tests.
• Prepare and record accurate information; Follow quality control plans or guidelines as assigned.
• Prepare and communicate our quality control plan to the appropriate staff as needed
• Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies as needed to perform the function of the position.
• Communicate results and findings to the appropriate personnel within the organization.
• Represent the company in a respectable manner with customers.
• Troubleshoot production concerns with the aggregate and/or asphalt production staff.
• Obtain / Maintain certifications as required by the Maine DOT and/ or other customers.

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years construction materials testing experience is preferred.

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
