Outline of Position & Duties:

Under general supervision, the Credit Administration Analyst will assist in managing the Bank’s loan portfolio and provide support to the Credit Administration Department. This position will perform a variety of duties that may include:

  • Spreading financial statements, performing cash flow analysis, reviewing collateral, and underwriting commercial loan requests in adherence with Bank lending policies.
  • Guiding Credit Analyst I team members, and documenting procedures.
  • Maintaining tracking reports for loan covenants and ticklers, and helping to assign out related tasks to the Credit Analyst I team members.
  • Preparing loan committee packages.
  • Engaging in special projects pertaining to Credit Administration.
  • Leading administration of credit software (Cash Suite) system.
  • Preparing credit approval requests and submitting them for approval by executives and loan committees.
  • Attending training courses and enhancing knowledge of credit and lending topics.
  • Working closely with commercial lenders to ensure accurate and up-to-date credit files.
  • Discussing perceived credit weaknesses or potential credit problems with the Underwriting Manager or other lending managers.
  • Reviewing credit requests for conformance to regulatory guidelines and Bank policies.
  • Assessing collateral and other sources of repayment, as well as borrower credit history and management ability.
  • Performing general clerical duties including filing, copying, data entry and scanning.

Education:

  • AA Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent. 

Prior Experience:

  • 1-4 years related experience in commercial banking.
  • Participation in a formal bank training program highly desired.

Requisite Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to enter information into financial software and bank systems with a very high level of accuracy
  • Understanding of accounting and finance topics and familiarity with financial statements and tax returns.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and software programs, such as MS Excel, MS Word and Adobe Acrobat, as well as other programs specific to the banking industry.
  • Proficient in bank software and core systems.
  • Familiarity with typical loan documents such as borrowing base certificates, real estate appraisals, covenant compliance certificates, etc. 
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively at a fast pace with competing interests and due dates, but still maintain a timely turnaround time.

Physical Demands: Work is performed in a bank branch environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: Employee must be able to work with general office equipment. Equipment used is general office equipment including computer, postage machine, fax machine, copier, cash counting & scanning equipment.
