The Genome Informatics and Data Engineering team is looking for a passionate Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer with strong technical ability, communication, and collaboration skills. As the Senior Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for ongoing support and management of RGC's cloud infrastructure. You will manage offshore resources, work with various partners including the rest of the Cloud engineering & DevOps team, and domain experts to build and maintain cloud native solutions.

Key focus areas include,

* Mature the cloud operations practice at RGC through automation, SOPs and tracking of key metrics.

* Streamlining and operationalization of support, security, and compliance related activities.

* Development and optimal utilization of offshore resources.

* Support core AWS services - S3, EC2, ECS, EFS, IAM, Lambda, RDS, Redshift, Cloud Formation and develop python & bash scripts for automating routine operations.

In this role, a typical day might include the following:

* Manage user support and cloud operations.

* Apply industry standards to ensure system and application security.

* Manage offshore cloud operations resources.

* Drive automation of operations and management of infrastructure as code

* Deploy and manage monitoring, metrics, and logging capabilities on RGC's cloud engineering platforms.

* Develop SOPs and configure cloud services to stand up high compute pipelines.

* Installs, configures, and maintains cloud applications and services.

* Keep abreast of the latest advances in cloud platforms and services.

* Develop and provide training, and documentation.

To be considered for the Senior Principal Engineer, Cloud Engineering & DevOps you must have a BS degree and 7 years of in-depth AWS services experience. Expertise in implementing containers and container orchestration using Docker, ECS, EKS, Fargate, etc., Tangible experience with Linux administration, CI/CD, automation using BOTO3/Lambda and CloudFormation is required. Knowledge of core AWS services EC2, EBS, S3, ELB, RDS, RedShift, CloudFormation, Athena, Glue and monitoring tools. Experience managing offshore support teams is a must. Experience in monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus. AWS and other related certifications are a plus.

Level commensurate on experience and qualifications.

$141,800.00 - $231,400.00
