Hostesses are expected to stand at the front of the restaurant, with clean menus ready, and greet all guests as they enter the restaurant. The hostess should give appropriate menus to the guests, and show them to their table.

Essential Requirements:

· Maintain positive and professional attitude at all times

· Greet all guests in a friendly and timely manner

· Use guest names whenever possible

· Working in a quick manner, to get the guest to their table as fast as possible

· To keep all menus and books clean, and organized on their specific shelf in the front of the restaurant

· Ability to work and effectively communicate as part of a team

· Assist the bussers by replacing silverware when they finish cleaning the tables

· Be able to communicate with guests, take to go orders and room service orders as needed

· Be able to maintain a cover sheet and have a full understanding of the seating chart

· Be aware of events or activities going on in the hotel or the area

· Keep guests’ common areas clean, meaning you have to sanitize the waiting space

· Perform duties in accordance with resort and department mission statements

· Answer telephone in a timely and professional manner

· Ability to follow and execute restaurant sequence of service

· Own all guest requests & concerns brought to your attention by guests.

· Knowledge of menu items and specials

· Complete all side work as assigned

· Maintain professional appearance in accordance with resort uniform policy

· Ensure all side work is completed and your area is clean

· Delivering In-Room Dining orders

· Ability to lift and hold up to 50 pounds

· Responsible money handling practices

· Be punctual and reliable

· Ability to cope with high stress environment

· Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
