Lexington City Schools is Hiring a CTE - Career and Instruction Management Coordinator, Career Development Coordinator, Special Populations Coordinator Near Lexington, NC

General Statement of Job:
The CTE Instructional Management Coordinator provides support to CTE teachers and personnel within the school system. In doing so, the CTE Instructional Management Coordinator assists with implementing the CTE curriculum in the schools; provides technical support and training for CTE teachers and other CTE staff pertaining to the use of the CTE computerized instructional management system; provides assistance and support to CTE teachers and other CTE staff to improve the instructional process, document student learning, and improve student outcomes to ensure the success of students in aa high wage, high-skill, or high demand global economy.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist teachers in locating appropriate instructional management resources such as blueprints, curriculum guides, equipment lists, pacing guides, facility guides and vendor-generated curriculum resources
  • Be knowledgeable and able to explain the information within the most current Status of Curriculum & Assessment (SOCCA) document
  • Provide technical assistance in analyzing performance data in the Local Planning System (LPS) to improve instruction and student performance
  • Encourage and support the improvement of instruction through a current knowledge of curriculum development and instructional strategies
  • Provide technical assistance and support for teachers in understanding and implementing the CTE computerized instructional management system
  • Maintain current knowledge of the Standard Course of Study, 21st Century Skills, current state and local Graduation Requirements to foster high-skill, high-wage and high-demand career opportunities for students
  • Facilitate or assist with the application and development process of an LCO (Local Course Option) that seeks alignment to in-demand careers existing today or tomorrow.
  • Maintain a current knowledge base of CTE latest trends, developments and research.
  • Understand and facilitate the process of current state and local articulation through collaboration with community colleges and other postsecondary programs.
  • Assist with state or local mandated CTE assessments and/or credentials.
  • Be familiar with the most current documents of "Testing Students with Disabilities" and "Testing Students with Limited English Proficiency"
  • Coordinate the administration of high school NC CTE State Assessments
  • Coordinate the administration of the Credit for Demonstrated Mastery (CDM) online NCCTE State Assessments for CTE courses
  • Generate, analyze and report state assessment data to key stakeholders to improve the instructional process and student learning
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the types of special population students enrolled in CTE courses, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Review of Accommodation Forms and the legal implications and requirements to provide services to these students.
  • Understand the importance of securing state assessments, both paper/pencil and electronic versions
  • Understand the Occupation Course of Study (OCS) program and its relationship to CTE curriculum, assessments, and credentials.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in any CTE program area, Curriculum Development, or Instructional Technology, five (5) years within the past eight (8) years of related work experience.
  • Examples of Related Work Experience: Examples of Related Work Experience: Classroom teacher in a CTE area; Career Development Coordinator, Special Populations Coordinator, or curriculum/instructional specialist.
  • Required Licensure: Current licensure 830 -Current license in any CTE program area, Curriculum Development, or Instructional Technology ANY of the following:
    • Current continuing professional teaching license in any CTE area
    • Current continuing professional license as Curriculum Instructional Specialist
    • Current continuing professional license as Instructional Technology Specialist
    • Current continuing professional license as a School Administrator
Requirements to Convert to Continuing: NC DPI sponsored CIMC Induction Program.
Special Populations Coordinator:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree. Current Continuing Professional License in a CTE program area or Current Continuing Professional License in Exceptional Children's Education or Current Continuing Professional licensure as School Counselor at the G level Related work experience.
Related Work Experience: Career and Technical Education program area teacher, administrator of special education, special education teacher, school psychologist, curriculum director, career development coordinator, school counselor, reading specialist, school administrator, speech and language pathologist, English Language instructor
(teaching English as a second language), social worker.
Requirements to Convert to Continuing:
Option 1: One course
NC DPI Special Populations Course
Option 2: 6 Semester Hours and Induction
3 semester hours in Instructional Methods/Teaching Strategies of Special Needs Students
OR
Diversity OR Psychology;
3 semester hours in Classroom Assessment and Evaluation
OR
Exceptionalities; Principles of Career Counseling and Development OR Theories and Techniques of Counseling.
NC DPI SPC Induction
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or additional credits and certification from an accredited institution in the field of Instructional Technology, Curriculum Development, or other CTE areas.
