Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney pain, infections, stones, and other kidney problems. With this exciting opportunity you will be joining a seasoned team of 50 Physicians and Advanced Practitioners, as well as 70 team members across eight office locations. We are looking for a dynamic fulltime Patient Representative to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The Patient Representative performs clerical tasks to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment and quality patient care. This position is also responsible to help keep our work areas clean and organized, as well as ensure our office provides a welcoming environment for our patients.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Greets patients and other visitors upon arrival
  • Answers all phone calls and direct callers to the correct department.
  • Schedules patient appointments
  • Adds patients to recall and waiting lists; schedules patients from recall and waiting lists
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Checks patients in and out
  • Processes patient paperwork
  • Scans insurance cards for each patient; verifies insurance eligibility
  • Collects and posts patient co-pays
  • For new patients, makes sure all paperwork is completed and process
  • Completes eligibility tasks and orders in EMR
  • Protects patients rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures
  • Cross trains in all front office position to covers as assigned
  • Travels to other locations when needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Must receive influenza vaccination annually.
  • Must have a least a high school diploma.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of prior relevant experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical thinking skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement when making decisions
  • Must be customer service oriented and prepared to liaise with patients, families and other providers
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to spend long periods of time sitting at a desk
  • Prior experience using Epic software highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is an asset
