Job Summary

The position of an HVAC Install Apprentice is to deliver exceptional HVAC installation service to the customer by completing and installing HVAC equipment and accessories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assists the Lead Installation Technician with installing HVAC-related equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Supports Lead Installer in:
  • Installing HVAC-related equipment.
  • Installing Sheet metal duct systems.
  • Connecting gas lines to heating equipment.
  • Cutting and threading pipes.
  • Wiring both line voltage and low voltage to heating equipment.
  • Installing copper refrigerant line to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing.
• Inspects the area for cleanliness after the job is completed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
• Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow industry safety standards.
• Maintains a clean, organized job site and well-maintained truck.
• Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EPA Certified or pursuing.
• NATE Certification preferred.
• Previous experience in the HVAC industry preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to use a computer tablet, or smartphone and read a map or follow GPS.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces.
• General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use.
• Provide and maintain a valid driver’s license and approved by the Company's insurance carrier.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands:

• Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to pick-up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet unassisted
• Operate handheld power tools
• Wear personal protective equipment
• Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day

Working Environment:

• Work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to work on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for up to 8 hours
• The Installer may work in awkward environments and will have to carry all required equipment and supplies at all times.
