Printing and Engraving Operator

As a Printing and Engraving Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining printing and engraving equipment to produce high-quality printed and engraved materials. Your role will involve setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting printing and engraving processes to ensure accurate reproduction of designs and artwork according to client specifications and company standards.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  1. Operate printing and engraving equipment, including presses, printers, engraving machines, and related machinery.
  2. Set up printing and engraving jobs by loading materials, adjusting settings, and calibrating equipment according to job specifications.
  3. Monitor printing and engraving processes to ensure quality control, including color accuracy, registration, and engraving depth.
  4. Perform routine maintenance tasks on printing and engraving equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed.
  5. Troubleshoot equipment issues and make adjustments to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  6. Coordinate with design and prepress teams to prepare artwork, plates, or digital files for printing and engraving.
  7. Inspect printed and engraved materials for defects or errors and make adjustments as necessary to meet quality standards.
  8. Maintain accurate production records, including job logs, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance schedules.
  9. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  10. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflows, improve processes, and achieve production goals.

Requirements

Required Skills:

  1. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  2. Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.
  3. Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  4. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
  5. Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines at all times.

Education and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in printing or engraving technology is preferred.
  2. Proven experience as a printing and engraving operator or similar role in a printing, engraving, or manufacturing environment.
  3. Proficiency in operating various types of printing and engraving equipment, including presses, printers, engraving machines, and related machinery.
  4. Familiarity with printing and engraving software, digital file formats, and computer-controlled systems is preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials and perform repetitive tasks.
