Holiday Inn Melbourne-Viera Conference Center is Hiring a Sales and Catering Manager Near Melbourne, FL

The successful candidate will serve as the hotel representative to prospective clients and customers who will need guest rooms, meeting rooms, function space and hotel services. Will primarily identify, qualify and solicit new business to achieve hotel revenue goals.

Some additional duties and responsibilities are:

  • Budgeting and forecasting food and beverage, room rental, and audio-visual revenue for current month, 3-month, current end of year and next year
  • Enhance the lead generation resulting in Food & Beverage and Guest room revenue.
  • Close the best opportunities for the hotel on market conditions and hotel needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/ or convention business.
  • Monitor hotel’s position within assigned market(s), recommend changes as necessary.
  • Maintain an understanding of the overall market(s), including competitor’s strength/weakness, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.
  • Represent hotels at the trade shows and city-wide conventions as dictated by the hotel needs.
  • Prepare internal and external correspondences, i.e. contracts, proposals, group resumes, event orders and rooming as needed.
  • Establish client base of organizations, associations, social, and corporate businesses through direct outside and inside sales effort for the purpose of securing business for the hotel to ensure that predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Assists the Director of Sales with the implementation and achievement of the Sales Marketing plan.
  • Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Must have complete understanding of effective catering pricing and menu selection.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years’ work experience in hotel sales.
  • One year in catering sales required
  • Must be able to travel in town, in state and out of state. If using own vehicle or renting vehicles, must have valid driver’s license with clear background.
  • Previous IHG experience preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Experience in SalesPro preferred.
  • Familiar with SalesForce, Opera, PMS and Micros

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
