Hoffman Academy represents the education department of Hoffman Homes for Youth. Hoffman Academy offers special education and regular education services to students in need of an alternative environment from the typical educational setting. Hoffman Academy is looking for a teacher to fulfill the role of the Health & Physical Education Teacher for the 24/25 School Year. The opportunity for summer work is available.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

• Develops and teaches curriculum in physical fitness and health education.
• Manages a classroom of students who may be at various skill levels.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Explains basic skills, knowledge and strategies of health, fitness, and exercise.
• Keeps record of performance for each student.
• Works as part of team assigned to each student that may involve the therapist and direct care staff of any students residing at Hoffman Homes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• PA State Teacher Certification or the ability to achieve certification in Health & Physical Education PK-12. Related experience may be considered.
• All necessary clearances will be processed.
