General Description

Greenup Industries is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Ecologist/Biologist to prepare Section 404 and 408 permit applications, participate in environmental field surveys and coordinate with Federal and State agencies for our clients flood risk reduction and flood control projects. The selected candidate will assist our team of environmental professionals with environmental permitting, construction monitoring, impact analysis, wetland, stream, and vegetation assessments/monitoring, and endangered species surveys in south Louisiana. As an Environmental Scientist/Ecologist/Biologist, you will work in a highly dynamic team environment with other biologists/ecologists/water resource specialists, NEPA specialists, engineers, planners, and regulatory experts. This position will include opportunities for both field and office work; it may also involve extensive local travel in the field.

Pre-Requisites

• Experienced with Federal and State permitting processes
• Have a Valid Driver's License and own vehicle
• Be able to remain Active in a random drug testing policy
• Be able to be insurable by the company’s auto insurance policy
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and consistently follow up on unresolved issues.

Essential Functions

• The selected candidate will assist our team of environmental professionals with environmental permitting, construction monitoring, impact analysis, wetland, stream, and vegetation assessments, and endangered species surveys in south Louisiana.
• Experience with federal permitting programs such as the Clean Water Act, the US Army Corps wetland permitting process, wetland delineations, wetland determinations, mitigation plans and Louisiana state permitting applications.
• Environmental construction compliance monitoring (stormwater and erosion control, resource protection, hazardous material handling and spill response, site reclamation, etc.)
• Vegetation inventories/monitoring
• GPS data collection and mapping support
• GIS mapping and data collection applications
• Record, enter, organize, manage, and analyze data
• Assist with and prepare portions of written reports, tables, spreadsheets, databases, and maps for client and regulatory agency review
• Wildlife surveys and habitat assessments
• Endangered resource record reviews
• Aquatic assessments (lake and stream)
• Wetland and stream delineation and assessment
• Background data reviews
