Position Description:
The Operations Manager will oversee the workflow of procurement, production, inventory control, distribution, transportation, maintenance, and safety. The Operations Manager will ensure that critical processes within each of their departments run both safely and effectively to achieve or exceed organizational goals and performance. 
Responsibilities:
  • Supports the development, tracking, and improvement of performance metrics. 
  • Oversees Production, Supply Chain, Quality Control, Inventory, Purchasing, Maintenance, Safety, and Shipping to Ensure monthly and annual performance goals are met or exceeded, including on-time production, quality, productivity, labor cost and product loss and damage.
  • Evaluate and monitor contracts to be sure that vendors and supplies comply with the terms and conditions of the contract and to determine the need for changes.
  • Meets with staff and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
  • Oversees safety compliance within the company and partners with HR on training and the prevention of employee accidents and injuries. 
  • Responsible for ensuring and documenting that all department employees (including temporaries) receive and follow appropriate department training including Environmental, Health and Safety training. 
  • Ensure support of all customer service and sales efforts by keeping productivity high, controlling costs, reinforcing safety efforts and encouraging morale to achieve positive results. 
  • Supervises employees involved in a variety of production and/or operation functions such as production, maintenance, quality control and inventory.
  • Ensure that all our operations are compliant with all local, state and federal regulations. 
  • Provide recommendations for increasing department efficiency or cost reduction initiatives. (Lean Manufacturing)
  • Establish a Supply Chain and Operational strategy that ensures continuity of supply of products to meet order and product needs and requirements while improving margins with cost reduction initiatives. 
  • Interview vendors and visit suppliers' plants and distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services, and prices.
  • Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other information to determine reasonable prices.
  • Must be able to abide by and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for employee performance reviews as well as any disciplinary documentation needed.
  • Oversees and assists in Production & Plant staff scheduling and time off.
  • Maintain and review records of items bought, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories. 
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field. (Relevant experience and achievements may be considered in lieu of degree.)
  • 3-6 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Operations in Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, Production, Safety, and Supply Chain processesfrom start to finish.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize and multi-task to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Detail-oriented with highly critical thinking skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dedicated Leadership that exceeds expectations and pushes their team to achieve best results
  • High level of honesty, integrity, reliability, and accountability.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel, preferably on a Mac.
