Position Summary

Computrition, Inc. is looking to add to its amazing team of professionals who have a mission of advancing the foodservice industry to provide the best care possible for acute care hospitals and segments of the DoD and other foodservice operations throughout the country.

We need a User Interface Designer who will play a crucial role in shaping the design direction of our software and browser-based products to help enhance the customer experience. This position reports to the User Experience Manager and is a part of the Marketing department.

The ideal User Interface Designer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and stakeholders to create intuitive, accessible, and visually stunning application interfaces. This role's primary focus will be on crafting beautiful and intuitive user interfaces that enhance the overall user experience and keep in mind the complexity challenges felt by fast-paced development teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, business goals, and project requirements.
  • Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for desktop and mobile applications, adhering to design best practices and brand guidelines.
  • Create high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes using Figma.
  • Gather feedback from internal and external stakeholders to iterate on designs and improve user satisfaction.
  • Ensure designs are responsive and optimized for various devices and screen sizes, as well as accessible to a wide range of user personas.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in user interface design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and process.
  • Proficiency with Figma.
  • Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
  • Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and experience implementing accessible design solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating pixel-perfect designs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and justify design decisions effectively.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of user experience principles and interaction design best practices.
