This position supports our Corporate business function and is based in Birmingham AL, and is primarily an in-office position. The primary responsibility of Manager of Treasury is to provide ongoing management of the Treasury teams responsible for the Workday system, Accounts Payable, Custodial Operations, SOX compliance, and statutory deposits. The position directly manages supervisors and staff, ensuring team and departmental goals are represented across all areas of responsibility and all priorities are completed efficiently and accurately. The Manager of Treasury monitors policies and procedures, recommends improvements, works closely and under the direction of the AVP and Chief Investment Officer in establishing departmental strategies and objectives, and serves as a key resource for all aspects of Treasury under supervision of this position. This position collaborates and communicates effectively with other departments in the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 40% Designs and provides oversight of the Treasury Operations workflows including Accounts Payable and Cash Management Provides operational expertise and support and develops ongoing efficiencies in the Company’s Treasury processes and workflows using Workday solutions and optimizing staffing and processes. Develops and monitors productivity for supervisors and staff. Coordinates the training and development of staff. Monitors compliance with Treasury Department objectives, goals, and strategies. Supervises the statutory deposit process for the entire Company. Manages the work of Accounts Payable and Cash Management Supervisors as needed. Understands controls and audit needs and required adherence to them and proactively establishes controls when needed. Collaborates with Workday IT staff on problem-solving and solutions to create efficiencies. Collaborates with Line of Business operations staff implementing workflow solutions during IT conversions and throughout the year to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product. 20% Manages and provides oversight of the daily Treasury operations within the Workday system Overall responsibility for Workday Treasury system development, testing, and implementation for the Treasury platform. Performs as subject matter expert for the banking, credit card, and accounts payable areas of Workday. Manages the daily workflow of AP and Cash Management departments within Workday and ensures current workflows adhere to the current Internal Audit requirements. Coordinates and monitors ongoing Workday testing and required testing for each bi-annual Workday release for Treasury. 20% Leads and provides guidance, support, and growth opportunities to the Treasury Team including: Provides leadership to the Treasury Supervisors and Treasury Analysts in their overall goals and management of their teams. Conducts meaningful coaching discussions and completes annual performance reviews. Conducts periodic review of Workday and provides appraisals. Gives guidance on strategic and tactical direction for workflows and product. Reviews staff workloads with supervisors to ensure balance within the department. Reviews Treasury Analyst’s workload and provides guidance and direction as needed. Conducts regular team meetings to review department goals and collaborate on department practices to improve efficiency. Arranges for staff training on various processes and assignments and review completed tasks and assignments for accuracy. Participates with the AVP in the the interviewing and hiring of new Treasury employees. 10% Manages the Sarbanes Oxley Control Process Writes, reviews, and monitors performance of quarterly and annual SOX controls. Responsible for SOX compliance for investments and AP. Responsible for the ongoing review of all Treasury-related SOX narratives and ensures narratives accurately reflect current operating procedures. Coordinates the monthly cash close process and ensures cash entries are completed by Cash management staff in a timely and efficient manner. Coordinates the performance of quarterly investment policy compliance review and works with external investment managers to ensure compliance with our corporate investment Policy guidelines. Assists in preparation of quarterly reports presented to the company’s investment committee. Provides support to External Auditors and Accounting for quarterly and annual filings. 5% Provides Oversight to the Corporate Travel and Credit Card Programs Coordinates the daily operations of our Company travel program with AdTrav as well as our Company credit card program with Elan. Develops travel/corporate credit card training and coordinates the training facilitation by the Treasury Technical Specialist and Senior Treasury Analyst. Ensures regular and accurate reconcilement of all credit card charges. Oversees performance of SOX controls related to our corporate credit card program each quarter. 5% Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Works directly with the Company’s external auditors to compile audit confirmation letters to confirm balances held in outside banking and investment accounts. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business related from an accredited institution required. Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting or MBA preferred Minimum of 5years of relevant finance and/or accounting experience and at least 3 years of management required preferably managing finance staff Insurance experience preferred CPA or Certified Treasury Professional designation preferred Strong knowledge and aptitude for current regulatory and compliance practices Customer service oriented, be able to work with all levels of authority, respond well to deadlines Ability to enforce policies with empathy Have a general understanding of Treasury, Accounting, and Banking concepts Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Experience in accounting software systems required, preferably in Workday and Adaptive systems Excellent data analysis skills Ability to recognize trends and patterns, and determine possible solutions and outcomes Here at ProAssurance, we believe our team members are our most valuable asset. Position Salary Range $83,869.00 - $138,397.00 The salary range displayed represents the entirety of the pay grade for this position. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
