10 Federal Partners is Hiring a Construction Controller Near Raleigh, NC

We are seeking a seasoned Construction Administrator! In this role, pivotal responsibilities include overseeing financial operations and project controls. This encompasses managing accounts payable/accounts receivable (AP/AR), job cost accounting, payroll, and cash flow. Duties extend to developing and upholding an internal system of accounting controls and financial reporting. This position involves active involvement in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, as well as overseeing Work-In-Progress reporting and the General Ledger. Additionally, spearheading the contract preparation process, managing contract administration, and ensuring seamless operational flow across all development and construction projects are key components of this role.

Responsibilities:*

*
Responsible for handling all aspects of contract administration, from contract review through contract execution and filing, including onboarding of contracts, researching, and tracking contract issues, analyzing contract documentation, monitoring progress of pending contracts, communicating status of contract reviews, and managing contracts lifecycle.

  • Manage the creation and implementation of systems and documentation to increase efficiency of the department, including spreadsheets, forms, checklists, and databases.
  • Insurance management and compliance
  • Support department with day-to-day business needs.
  • Responsible for maintaining a logical and consistent file tree structure and file naming convention aligned with real estate development and construction best practices within the designated document management system.
  • Monitor and ensure all conditions of contract close out are met and work with project managers to close out projects both contractually and financially.
  • Monitor consultant and contractor COI expirations and pursue renewals where appropriate.
  • Administer development and construction project dashboards for use by 10 Federal teams to track/manage pipeline.
  • Oversee department financial operations including AP/AR, job cost accounting, payroll and cash flow management using Acumatica Accounting Software.
  • Maintain the system of internal accounting controls and financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting & analysis, job Cost reporting and General Ledger.
  • Produce monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits and tax returns.
  • Maintain state registrations, business and tax licenses, etc.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between project management in the contract preparation process for vendors, subcontractors, and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field.
  • 3-5 years of financial and accounting related work experience.
  • Construction and/or real estate development experience preferred.
  • Experience with AIA documents and Lien Waivers
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience with Acumatica preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
