Job Overview:
Sound Christian Academy is hiring for a Dean of Secondary Education. The successful candidate will be an inspirational educational leader responsible for creating a culture of excellence in teaching and learning while advancing SCA’s mission with a focus on spiritual values. The Dean of Secondary Education will work in tandem with the Dean of Elementary Education, and reports directly to the Head of School.

Must have at least three years of demonstrated successful teaching experience and at least one year of educational leadership and/or supervision experience.

Applicants must have a clear Christian testimony, faithfully attend a local evangelical church, and agree with our Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supervises and facilitates the daily operations of the Middle School and High School divisions.
• Assists in developing new policies and procedures, enforcing existing policies and procedures, and providing disciplinary action as necessary within the Middle and High school.
• Assists instructional staff with alignment of curriculum, instructions and assessment with state learning goals.
• Leads the development, implementation and evaluation of a data-driven plan for increasing student achievement, including the use of multiple student data elements.

Requirements:

• Must be a credible Christian role model whose godly lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Scriptures.
• Must be able to accept and support SCA’s Articles of Faith without reservation.
• Must understand and commit to SCA’s educational objectives and education philosophy.
• Must be or become an active member of one of the sponsoring churches or a board-approved church.
• Must have at least three years of demonstrated successful teaching experience and at least one year of educational leadership and/or supervision experience
• (Preferred) Earned a master’s degree, preferably in school administration.
• Must hold, or be willing to pursue, an ACSI or WA State certification in school administration.
