Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and a love for literature and language. We are looking for a dynamic teacher who is ready to join a strong team of educators focused on innovative quality instruction and discipling students as they grow in their faith. Teachers must be able to teach from a Biblical Worldview Perspective and must have an appreciation and passion for working with middle school age students.
One to three years of teaching experience, Washington State certification, content knowledge, and experience with middle school students is preferred. Must have a Bachelors degree.
Applicants must have a clear Christian testimony, faithfully attend a local evangelical church, and agree with our Statement of Faith.
Duties:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English department's offerings
- Stay updated on educational best practices and incorporate them into teaching
Skills:
- Proficient in educational technology to support learning
- Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans, grading, and student records effectively
- Ability to educate, inspire, and motivate students in the subject of English
- Proficient in conducting research and integrating it into teaching materials
- Knowledge of Education administration principles for effective classroom management
- Excellent written communication skills for creating lesson plans and providing feedback
- Experience in tutoring or providing additional support to students
- Understanding of special education practices to support diverse learners
