Camp Sewataro Overview: Camp Sewataro is a premier summer day camp nestled in the beautiful woods of Sudbury, Massachusetts. With over 50 acres of lush greenery, Camp Sewataro provides a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for children ages 4 to 14 to explore, learn, and grow. Our dedicated staff fosters a sense of community, encourages personal development, and creates memorable experiences for campers each summer.

Position Overview: Camp Sewataro is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Sports Specialist to oversee our Golf and Target Paintball programs.

Responsibilities:

Golf Program:

• Develop age-appropriate drills, games, and activities to enhance campers' golf skills and knowledge.
• Maintain and oversee the camp's golf equipment, ensuring it is in good condition and properly stored.

Target Paintball Program:

• Lead target paintball activities, emphasizing safety protocols and proper handling of equipment.
• Instruct campers on paintball shooting techniques, aiming, and target accuracy.
• Ensure that all paintball equipment is maintained, cleaned, and stored appropriately.

Skill Development:

• Provide individualized instruction and feedback to campers to help them improve their golf and paintball skills.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where campers feel encouraged to challenge themselves and try new things.
• Emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play in all activities and interactions.

Safety and Supervision:

• Enforce safety rules and procedures for golf and paintball activities, ensuring the well-being of all campers and staff.
• Monitor campers' behavior and adherence to safety guidelines during sports activities.
• Respond promptly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies that may arise.

Qualifications:

• Experience playing and/or coaching golf and/or paintball, with knowledge of basic techniques and rules.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and instruct campers of varying ages and abilities.
• Experience working with children in a camp, school, afterschool, or recreational setting preferred.
• Ability to prioritize safety and enforce rules and procedures in a sports environment.
• Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and passion for teaching and mentoring children.
• CPR certification preferred. (Camp is able to provide training for free!)
• Must be at least 18 years old

Additional Information:

• This is a seasonal position for the duration of the summer camp season. (June 24th-August 16th)
• Sports Specialists will work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with two evening special events a summer.
• Staff training will be provided prior to the start of the camp season.
