Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy is Hiring a K-12 School Psychologist Near Leawood, KS

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy welcomes your application for a School Psychologist position at our K-12 Jewish Day School, located in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. HBHA is a community day school with two separate Jewish Studies tracks: Matimidim, for families looking for an Orthodox approach to education, and Magshimim, which is an egalitarian, pluralistic approach to Jewish education. We are in search of an exceptional candidate to join us.

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy’s Mission is to prepare students for fulfilling lives as Jews and as honorable, contributing citizens. Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy is an ISACS-accredited Jewish community day school. Serving the Greater Kansas City Jewish community since 1966, HBHA works in partnership with our parents and students to support the emotional, spiritual, academic, and physical growth of our students. The Kindergarten through twelfth grade school psychologist will be a uniquely qualified and educationally certified individual that will assist the students in their learning and the teachers with their teaching. This person will apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. The school psychologist will partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in education or psychology or another closely related field;
  • Have a Master’s, specialist, or doctoral degree in school psychology or educational psychology development or related field;
  • Have experience with RULER
  • Be credentialed or currently licensed at the state and/or national level to practice school psychology in a school setting. Individuals who are currently licensed as independent psychologists (with closely related experience) will be considered.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands: Physical demands include dexterity for office machine/supply operation, including but not limited to computers, telephones, copy machines, facsimiles, and printers. Stooping, bending, reaching for files or supplies, and sitting or standing for extended periods is common.
