Job Description:

PACTT Learning Center is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist for our Rogers Park (Chicago) location. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting ongoing speech and language evaluations and assessments of individuals, as well as maintaining an ongoing caseload of individual and group therapy sessions. This process includes writing, reviewing and updating individual education plans closely with staff to develop a comprehensive and effective program for individuals served. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
• Valid Illinois State Speech-Language Pathology License.
• ISBE Professional Educator License with an endorsement in Speech/Language Pathology.
• Must have minimum 1 year experience in direct service of individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of speech pathology including assessment, evaluation and implementation of plans and procedures.
• Proficiency in computer word processing and programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Suite).
• Ability to lift/carry up to 25lbs.
• Ability to twist, turn, bend, stand, climb stairs and kneel.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess communication needs of students, using formal and informal measures.
• Provide IEP-based SLP services, designed to meet each student's specific communication needs, using a total communication approach.
• Participate in annual IEP meetings, domain / assessment planning, and re-evaluation meetings for students.
• Write and update all designated and required written work including individual education plans, annual reviews, staffing reports, diagnostic evaluations and others as needed,
• Responsible for maintenance and programming of student AAC systems, including coordination of repair with individual districts and companies where appropriate,
• Communicate and consult with classroom staff, residential staff and school district representatives regarding implementation of speech therapy / interventions as appropriate,
• Communicate and consult with parents / guardians regarding student goals and progress
• Identify areas of needed training for the team, and for families.
• Support student social / emotional regulation, and intervene with interfering behaviors when needed.
• Attend and participate in meetings, conferences and in-service training sessions,
• Attend special activities related to the program as assigned,
• Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
