What The Role DeliversThe Project Engineer will ensure that equipment and facilities are properly installed and/or modified as required. They will provide practical, economical, and timely technical solutions to problems and prepare job order requests as required and provide engineering support to Operations and Maintenance as assigned.
What You Will Do
- The definition of problems associated with projects and/or specific incidents and the presentation of logical, economical solutions of the same.
- The preparation of concise, well written reports and/or job order requests that clearly identify the problem, solution, benefits, alternatives considered, and the degree of risk which may be encountered. Use of the current Capital Request, Authorization (CAR) database(s) for capital job request approval workflow and integration into SAP as required.
- Competent knowledge of SAP transactions for the execution of the Engineering job functions including but not limited to the Creation, Editing, Display and Reporting of Purchase Requisitions, Notifications, Work Orders, Capital Assets, MRO Inventoried Parts, Functional Location and Equipment records, and other Asset Effectiveness transactions as identified.
- The orderly and rapid completion of projects assigned in the most economical and timely manner consistent with good engineering and safe work practices.
- The supervision and control of all personnel working on assigned projects to ensure that they are completed satisfactorily.
- Ensure that cost overruns are avoided in all projects assigned.
- Ensure new equipment to designed and installed to allow easy maintenance and that maintenance instructions, prints, and the documentation are available.
- The evaluation of deficiencies discovered in the process and equipment and the development of standard procedures for performing work, reducing waste, conserving energy, and reducing costs.
- Assist the Safety Department in fire alarm systems, pump house, sprinkler, and foam systems, and the emergency system.
- Keep documentation, drawings, P&IDs updated and current.
- The employee must be completely conversant with applicable safety, loss prevention, and environmental standards of the Company, business group, and plant. The employee must also be aware of the regulatory requirements and must implement those standards as specified in the standards and regulatory requirements in this work assignment.
- Assist the maintenance and operations departments with general trouble shooting activities.
- BS in Engineering.
- 5 years’ experience in Engineering, Operations, or Maintenance.
- Strong human relationship skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Position requires the ability to climb, bend, lif and perform a wide variety of physical activies; entry into confined spaces; ability to listen and follow directions.
- Position Testing Requirements: Successful candidates will be required to take a physical examination, which includes a drug and fitness for duty exam and criminal background check.
