The Basics for All Staff
- Spiritual Growth: oversees spiritual growth of the team, both employees and volunteers, and helping others take next steps in their walk with Christ.

- Ephesians 4:12 Model: “equip the saints for the work of ministry”. Our primary responsibility is not to do the entire ministry, but to equip - train, lead, and develop - others for ministry that builds up the body of Christ. All staff are responsible for equipping others in leadership.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing all areas of the church, including the sanctuary, classroom, offices, restrooms, and common spaces.
- Use the auto scrubber and auto vacuum.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly, restocking supplies as needed.
- Ensure that restrooms are clean and presentable for church services and events.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for special events, small groups weddings, funerals, and other church gatherings.
- Maintain a safe environment by promptly addressing any hazards or safety concerns.
- Prior experience in housekeeping or custodial work is preferred.
- Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and the proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A respectful and professional demeanor, as the role involves interaction with church members and visitors.
- Consistently spend time with God outside of church time
- Attend meetings (remotely or in-person) and trainings to continuously grow as a leader and as a person
- Listen to leadership podcasts.
- Read 4 books a year in the following categories: Spiritual Development, Ministry Specific, Leadership, and Personal Development
- On-going participation in a VFC small group, regularly attending VFC church services, and tithing to VFC.
- Complies with expectations in the Employee Handbook
- Fulfills the performance standards of the position and complies with policies, rules, and procedures of the church, including those communicated verbally or in writing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Constant (90-100% of the time): standing, walking, lifting, pushing,
- Frequent (60-90% of the time): stooping, bending, reaching, crawling, kneeling.
- Occasional (30-60% of the time): lifting 20 – 50 pounds, using ladder, balancing.
- Rare (0-30% of the time): sitting, reading, writing.
- High School graduate
- Preferably cleaning experience but will train.
- Successfully pass a background check
40 hours / week
- Weekend hours TBD
- Event Hours TBD
- ½ hour lunch (unpaid)
