Position Summary
Responsible for managing meter requests and readings. Interacts with customers on a daily basis, providing education, service and support.

Responsibilities

• Runs meter index to determine which meters are due for reporting.
• Obtains meter readings electronically or contacts customers directly to determine meter readings; makes requests to Service Department for on-site visits to collect meter readings when necessary.
• Updates ERP system with meter readings and reports meter readings to necessary third parties for billing purposes.
• Investigates malfunctioning meters and requests necessary repairs; determines appropriate course of action to resolve inconsistent meter readings; tracks meter averages and bill customers for meter average estimations when necessary; informs assigned Contract Administrator of credits that are due to customers for over-estimations.
• Educates and sets up customers on web services; encourages customer use of web services.
• Maintains meter request types (i.e. phone, email, web, RUI) to insure proper requests are communicated; sets up new types by tying appropriate serial number.
• Manages all aspects of the various Data Collection Agents.
• Develops and maintains relationships with customer contacts; manages contact information in ERP system.
• Regularly attends department meetings.
• Follows all department policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time.
• Regular, physical attendance on a predictable basis is essential to the performance of this job.
• Other duties and projects as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts and reports. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and fill out all paperwork associated with job.
• Must be polished, personable, highly organized and capable of effective, efficient multi-tasking, prioritization and time management.
• Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail.
• Computer skills and ability to use company’s software systems.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year customer service experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
