American Staffing is Hiring an Automotive Paint Prep Technician Near Saint Charles, MO
The Automotive Paint Prep Technician is responsible for preparing vehicles for the painting process by sanding, masking, and priming surfaces to ensure a smooth and flawless finish. This position requires attention to detail, knowledge of automotive painting processes, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
1. Sand and smooth vehicle surfaces using sandpaper, abrasives, and other tools to prepare for painting.
2. Mask off areas of the vehicle that are not to be painted, such as windows, trim, and rubber seals.
3. Clean and degrease surfaces to remove dirt, grease, and contaminants that could affect the paint finish.
4. Prime surfaces with appropriate coatings to promote adhesion and durability of the paint.
5. Mix and prepare paint colors according to specifications and instructions.
6. Assist painters in setting up and organizing painting equipment and materials.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
8. Inspect finished work to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
9. Follow safety protocols and guidelines while handling paint and chemicals.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in automotive paint preparation or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of sanding, masking, priming, and painting
