Role Summary: The School Nurse provides essential health services, promoting wellness and managing the medical needs of students. This role involves direct care, health education, and oversight of school health policies and practices.

Essential Functions:

• Administer first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed.
• Manage the storage and administration of medications according to district policies.
• Conduct mandatory health screenings and track immunization compliance.
• Develop care plans for students with chronic health conditions, including asthma, allergies, and diabetes.
• Educate students on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
• Serve as a health resource for parents, providing updates and guidance on their children's health issues.
• Coordinate with local health agencies for infectious disease management and health promotion.
• Maintain accurate student health records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with federal and state law.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
• CPR & First Aid Certification.
• Experience with pediatric or school nursing.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. from the first day of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• School Nurse License (All Levels) from MA State Dept. of Education. 
• Experience in an urban school environment.
• Proficiency in multiple languages, reflecting our diverse student population.
