  • GENERAL SUMMARY

    We are seeking a skilled Estimator for Commercial and Industrial projects to join our team. In this role, you will take on the responsibility of preparing comprehensive estimates and bids for assigned projects, whether independently or as a key contributor in multi-departmental teams. Your expertise will be crucial in determining the applicable project plans and specifications.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Statistical Data Mastery: Calculating a wide range of statistical data, including precise quantity take-offs, material pricing, labor costs per man-hour, equipment expenses, and more, to ensure our estimates are accurate and competitive.
    • Scope Determination: Reviewing specifications and drawings with meticulous attention to detail to determine the scope of work and the essential contents required for a precise estimate.
    • Document Management: Maintaining organized files of working documents as backup for estimate figures, including up-to-date and accurate information on supplier prices obtained through direct contact, brochures, price lists, and other resources.
    • Cross-Departmental Support: Collaborating with other department personnel as needed, which may include preparing estimates in diverse construction disciplines to foster the success of cross-functional projects.
    • Design Knowledge: Reviewing design options and providing recommendations for the best solutions, considering cost-effectiveness, engineering quality, and material availability.
    • Supervisor's Guidance: Performing additional assignments as directed by your supervisor to contribute to the overall success of our projects and team.

    EESTIMATOR JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Tech Savvy: The ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems is essential, streamlining the estimation process and enhancing overall efficiency.
    • Quick Pen Proficiency: Understanding operational capabilities of the Quick Pen estimating system is preferred. It’s a critical tool to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our estimates.
    • Mechanical and Plumbing Knowledge: A strong understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, strongly encouraged, as it provides comprehensive insights into the diverse projects in our portfolio.
    • Experience: 3-5 years of Estimator experience in Mechanical and Plumbing projects is preferred.
    • Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, enabling you to provide accurate and competitive estimates for our projects.
    • The ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems is essential to streamline the estimation process and enhance overall efficiency.
    • Comfortable using the Microsoft Office tools – Excel, word, outlook, etc.
