Salary Range: 115k - $140k (Actual compensation is commensurate with job related knowledge, skills, experience, etc.)

Overview: Rubicon is seeking a Solutions Consultant to join the Smart Cities team. This opening is an opportunity to join Rubicon’s dynamic Smart Cities team as we bring digital operations to waste collection vehicles and other heavy-duty fleets throughout North America. Our suite of software solutions helps local governments and private companies run more efficient, effective, and sustainable operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for growing and managing Rubicon’s route optimization professional service for complex fleet operations, including solid waste, snow, and street sweeper fleets. As a Solutions Consultant, you will work with our route optimization Analyst to scope route optimization projects, manage timelines and deliverables, and deliver exceptional results for our customers. Powered by our routing software FleetRoute™, Rubicon employs a highly iterative professional service to design new routes that incorporate operational constraints while meeting each customer’s explicit goals.

Our preferred candidate will have demonstrated experience delivering exceptional results for customers, managing project timelines and deliverables, conducting data analysis, and building out professional service offerings. Familiarity with delivering projects for municipalities and technology solutions is a plus. Responsibilities:

1. Client Management:

    • Act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are understood and effectively addressed.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their business challenges and providing strategic solutions.

2. Project Scoping & Delivery:

    • Lead and oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables and customer satisfaction.
    • Develop project plans, allocate resources, and manage project budgets to achieve successful outcomes.
    • Effectively communicate timelines and project plans with customer and internal team members to ensure projects are completed on time and with customer transparency.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to route optimization to ensure consistency and best practices
  • Develop and deliver interim and final deliverables that visualize results, synthesize insights, and tell the story to address customer objectives.

3. Business Development:

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
    • Work in concert with the broader Smart City team, to sell and deliver route optimization solutions to customers.

4. Product Expertise:

    • Develop an expertise in the FleetRouteTM product—Rubicon’s routing solution—to provide the highest quality deliverables for customers.
    • Develop a deep understanding of complex heavy-duty fleet operations, particularly solid waste, snow, and sweeper operations.
    • Collaborate across the Smart City team to build compelling new solution offerings that resonate with customers and address unmet needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or consulting
  • Management consulting skills such as project management, financial modeling, operational modeling, and stakeholder management
  • Proven experience facilitating meetings and presenting to large groups or senior leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop project plans in a variety of visualization formats and work in different project management methodologies.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering value to customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator. Ability to explain complex, technical concepts in plain language.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in ArcGIS Pro/Online, and Salesforce preferred
  • Prior experience with municipal fleets and/or routing logistics a plus.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
