Job Brief

We are looking for dependable and hard-working dry-ice blasting service techs that enjoy a challenge and can consistently exceed customer expectations.


What does a Dry-Ice Blasting Technician do at Emory Industrial?

Technicians at Emory Industrial Services provide superior industrial dry-ice blasting services across a broad range of customers and industries. Technicians must be comfortable performing jobs in a variety of work environments, be willing to travel, be a skilled problem-solver and be willing to acquire new skills and knowledge.


Dry-Ice Blasting Technicians responsibilities include:

  • Operate dry ice blasting equipment safely and efficiently to clean various surfaces and machinery.
  • Inspect and prepare the area for dry ice blasting, ensuring all necessary precautions are taken to protect surrounding equipment and personnel.
  • Adjust machine settings to regulate air pressure, ice feed rate, and pattern based on the cleaning requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance on blasting equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, managing supplies and equipment storage.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to OSHA standards.
  • Coordinate with the project manager or supervisor to understand project scope and cleaning objectives.
  • Document the cleaning process, including before and after photos, and provide reports on job completion.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients to provide progress updates and address concerns.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated with the latest dry ice blasting techniques and safety regulations.
  • Manage the inventory of dry ice and other supplies, ensuring adequate stock for upcoming projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of job estimates and proposals by providing technical insights.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and staff to.
  • Additional duties, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a federal and state criminal background check
  • Ability to pass a drug test as well as a hair follicle test
  • Have a clean MVR
  • Ability to obtain OSHA 10/30/HASC certifications
  • Ability to obtain TWIC Card
  • Ability to learn and adhere to worksite safety policies and procedures
  • Background in industrial manufacturing or mechanic work preferred
  • Be reliable and have reliable transportation to the Houston shop
  • Flexible; hours will vary based on project needs and may include overnight shifts
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to travel required, up to 75% of work hours
