Staffing Coordinator
PURPOSE: The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the credit union. This will be achieved through the development of local and regional recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. This position must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all clerical and specialized functions of the credit union, an understanding of the credit union’s organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the organization is hiring the best possible talent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Develops and executes recruiting plans.
•Builds strong relationships with leadership to anticipate recruiting needs.
•Efficiently and effectively, fill open positions.
•Processes job requisitions.
•Screens resumes and interviews candidates (by phone or in person).
•Makes recommendations for hire (or not for hire).
•Extends verbal contingent and written job offers.
•Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g.; benefits and compensation).
•Administers pre-employment screening.
•Conducts employment verifications.
•Develop a pool of candidates in advance of need.
•Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
•Build networks to find qualified passive candidates.
•Uses traditional and non-traditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
•Partners with Marketing to develop advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
•Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with department managers to ensure achievement of staffing goals. Conduct regular follow-up meetings with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruitment plans and implementation.
•Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and participate in career fairs.
•Coordinate and implement college-recruiting initiatives.
•Manages internal transfer and promotion process.
•Manage application/resume file and retention in compliance with employment laws.
•Maintain ongoing communication with CPO informing him/her of all pertinent problems, irregularities, new developments, changes, and other important information within area of responsibility.
•Maintain updated job descriptions within all HR platforms.
•Partners with CPO to facilitate employee career pathing and development program.
•Ensures that the confidentiality of all information and transactions regarding the credit union, its members, and its employees is held to the highest level of business ethics.
•Works with Training Coordinator and training branch to schedule new hires.
•Complete new hire paperwork and review employee handbook during orientation including accurately processes and maintains / updates all I-9 forms.
•Assist with maintaining and updating HRIS.
•Explain benefits, policies, and procedures of the Credit Union in the absence of CPO.
•Creates and maintains employee files and structuring and maintaining legally compliant filing and archiving systems to retain all employee information needed by the department while ensuring filing is accurate and kept up to date.
•Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
•Consistently and proactively demonstrates initiative and good judgment in day-to-day operations. Work is performed independently with minimal direction. Exhibits an overall understanding of the organization and company policies and procedures. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality.
•Maintains ongoing communication with supervisor, informing supervisor of all pertinent problems, irregularities, new developments, changes, and other important information within the department / Credit Union.
•Performs other duties as assigned and works on special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the position satisfactorily. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.
•High school diploma, or GED required. 1-3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Knowledge of employment laws.
•Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively listen, take instruction and disseminate information.
•Excellent organization and time management skills and proven presentation and facilitation skills.
•Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet to create graphs, charts, reports, and presentations using credit union data.
•Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
•Retains a thorough knowledge of the credit union’s products and services.
•Must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision and exercise good judgment, initiative, and tact in dealing with members and staff.
•Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality.

•Occasional travel time may be required for meetings and training classes held at off-site locations.
