Primary Job Responsibilities

Boyd Jones’ Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Team is seeking an Intern to join our office in Omaha, NE for Summer 2024. During the internship, tasks are assigned to help the intern gain exposure to the Virtual Design Construction process and apply her/his design, construction and engineering skills to real world applications.

Create and develop model-based BIM content 

Create and develop model-based content for general needs to support overall building construction delivery, project pursuits, sales support and business development (concept 3D modeling, 3D Printing, renderings, building animations, etc.)

Assist with project-level execution of 3D Trade Communication with Trade Contractors

Assist with project-level execution of laser scanning, processing and deliverables

Assist with drone flight plans, flyovers and map processing and deliverables

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or relevant field required

Valid drivers license and ability to commute to job sites

Required Skills

Analytical and math skills

3D Model content creating experience with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and/or Sketchup is required

3D Model navigation experience with Autodesk Navisworks preferred, but not required

Experience in creating 3D models and interpreting 2D drawings is preferred, but not required

Enjoys collaboration and working with others to solve complex problems

High initiative, a self-starter

Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and internet based-software
