Allyn International Services, Inc. is Hiring a Trade Compliance - Global Trade Compliance Account Lead Near Greenville, SC

Allyn International is in search of an Entry-Level Global Trade Compliance Account Leader to grow within our Trade Department in our Greenville, SC location. Allyn is a privately held professional services firm established in 1992. We provide high-quality, customer-centric services and solutions for the global marketplace. Our core products include transportation management, logistics sourcing, freight forwarding, supply chain consulting, tax management, and trade compliance operational support and consulting.

What does a Global Trade Compliance Account Leader do?
The Trade Compliance Account Leader is responsible for managing the day to day operations for specific account(s), having an immediate impact on business fulfillment, client relations, and the achievement of long term departmental goals and objectives. This position works with the Global Trade Compliance Director and other leaders to ensure that standard processes and relevant metrics are in place, and are used to improve customer service, reduce or contain costs, and increase the productivity of the department. Leaders are required to extend mentoring and coaching skills, have the ability to present and conduct meetings and be confident with the ability to delegate, follow-up, and discipline per the company’s progressive disciplinary procedure. The Trade Compliance Account Leader has primary responsibility for prompt issue resolution and reports to the Trade Compliance Manager.

Position Details:
Location: Greenville, SC
Position/Classification: Full-Time; Exempt, Entry level
Compensation: $55,000-65,000 annually
Hours of Work: Regular business hours, Monday-Friday
Physical Demands: Sitting, typing, carrying, and climbing stairs

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent college degree
  • Program and project management experience preferred
  • Ability to formulate and present high-level presentations and conduct trainings

  • Must be actively seeking U.S. Customs Broker Licensure
  • 1 to 2 years trade compliance experience or advanced degree in law, international relations or business preferred.

​Responsibilities:

  • Manage escalations
  • Provide consultation on customs issues and provide timely feedback to clients
  • Prepare and execute training for internal team members or external customers / suppliers
  • Facilitate prompt issue resolution and oversee issue resolution within department. Timely forward suggested corrective actions or issues needing additional attention to the Trade Compliance Director
  • Distribute workload efficiently among department team members
  • Run standard reports and metrics on a regular basis. Analyze and review findings with Trade Compliance Director
  • Actively participate in team meetings, conference calls, and daily project management calls with Allyn team and with the client
  • Actively look for and capture savings opportunities and added value opportunities when possible
  • Eliminate or minimize risk exposure for Allyn and customers
  • Ensure client satisfaction

  • Participate in writing publications and articles as well as obtaining articles from team members.
  • Supervise employees and manage them on a day to day basis including:

  • Determine classification according to Harmonized Tariff and document justification
  • Review classifications by employees and advise as needed

  • Provide appeals, protests, and audit management and/or support
  • Develop and implement process improvements
  • Maintain and abide by SOPs and work instructions
  • Interpret customs regulations for clients
  • Research import and export requirements and advise clients
  • Implement and onboard new clients
  • Maintain and exhibit proper recordkeeping
