Syndeo Staffing has a direct hire opportunity for a Food and Beverage Manager for a hotel group located in Columbia, MO. As a Food and Beverage Manager, you will be a vital contributor to our team, responsible for the administration and support functions related to optimizing revenue generation within the property's food and beverage operations. This role encompasses strategic planning, coordination of in-house sales promotions, and maintaining high standards of professionalism during catering functions. The Food and Beverage Manager is a key contributor to the overall success of the establishment, requiring comprehensive knowledge, effective communication, and a commitment to personal and professional growth.

Specific job responsibilities include:

Administration:

  • Assists with supervising food and beverage/culinary daily operations
  • Ensures guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget
  • Ensures standards, legal obligations, and compliance with all F&B policies, standards, and procedures
  • Coordinates cleaning program in all F&B areas (including general cleaning), identifying trends, making recommendations for improvements, and reporting malfunctions
  • Follows property-specific second effort and recovery plan
  • Upsell to improve revenue generation on the property and follow up on leads referred by sales managers
  • Develop a target sales and marketing plan with a focus on social catering functions
  • Assist with the development of banquet menus and participate in 30-60-90-day banquet forecasting
  • Greet clients upon arrival, facilitate and communicate details related to catering functions to management, and be readily available during functions for consultation with clients
  • Maintain professionalism in problem situations and keep detailed records of discussions with guests, including all meeting setups, food, and beverage details
  • Preside over conference planning meetings where details related to group coordination will be discussed and reviewed by management
  • Participate in site reviews, conduct exit interviews with clients to solidify repeat business, and respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual hotel budget and ability to accurately use various office and sales software

Support Function:

  • Manages day-to-day operations, ensuring quality, standards, and meeting customer expectations on a daily basis
  • Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met
  • Supports and supervises an effective monthly self-inspection program
  • Takes proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns
  • Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention
  • Stays readily available/approachable for all team members
  • Ability to assist with various sales department tasks as needed
  • Ability to assist with the design and preparation of statistical reports and presentations as needed
  • Ability to accurately report information
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors
  • Ability to scrupulously follow Endeavor Hotel Group policies and procedures
  • Attend required meetings

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • B.A. degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, including kitchen and front-of-house procedures.
  • Financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of the local market and industry trends.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Extensive industry experience.
