SUMMARY:
Manages the Quality Department. Improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost. Increase quality team skills and capabilities. Continuously improves levels of customer and associate satisfaction while improving efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensures that all tasks are performed in a safe and responsible manner.
· Performs various statistical / technical analysis of data to draw valid conclusions used to identify opportunities to improve.
· Responsible for the effectiveness of corrective actions
· Works in concert with team leaders, process analysts/engineers, and operators to identify and contain quality nonconforming products.
· Maintains product control plans, PFMEA’s, for each active product, and controls incoming inspection activities to assure receipt of qualified raw materials.
· Verifies that the latest standards and specifications are in use at the work centers.
· Determines the causes and location of nonconforming products, initiates team working, and recommends solutions as appropriate to solve problems and prevent reoccurrence.
· Conducts Internal Quality Management System audits, identifies problems, and initiates/tracks corrective actions to mitigate.
· Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in the industry.
· Initiates and receives customer contacts concerning product quality. Ensures appropriate and timely responses, testing and preventive/corrective actions are completed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITY:
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the Quality Assurance Department, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws including OSHA regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining; addressing concerns, and resolving issues.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and write fluently in English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common trade and technical publications, financial reports, and business documents. Ability to write reports and general business correspondence, and respond to common inquiries or concerns from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to assemble written and oral presentations, and effectively communicate subject matter to large and small groups of customers and/or associates representing all levels of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to read production sheets, graphs and understand their application. Ability to utilize and apply data collection and analysis techniques. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to work with Six Sigma tools, as needed.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and documents, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to read and interpret production and sales reports/graphs and utilize them in practical applications.

While performing the duties of this job in the production area, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, oils/coolants, fumes or airborne particles, and temperature extremes. The noise level in the production area is usually loud.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· B.S. in Business Management, Engineering or equivalent in experience is desirable.
· Five plus years’ experience with Quality Assurance
· ISO13485 / AS9100 Experience a plus
· Lead / Internal auditor certification preferred.
SKILLS/ Competencies:
· Familiarity with manufacturing ERP system and MS office products.
· Must be able to recommend, prepare and evaluate company quality results.
· Management and organization of quality requirements
· Understanding of Cost of quality elements and Continual improvements
