Summary: 

The Clinical Director is responsible, personally or through appropriate delegation, for clinical supervision, treatment provision, and program integrity of The Commons (residential), Community Integration Program (outpatient), and Extension of Services (a transition or maintenance level of care for residential and community integration). The Clinical Director provides clinical leadership and monitors treatment provided by the transdisciplinary clinical teams. Reporting to the Chief of Clinical Services, the Clinical Director works in partnership with the Medical and Leadership teams to oversee the delivery of clinical care in accordance to the WestBridge model.

As an organizational Leader/Manager, the Clinical Director is expected to; adhere to the responsibilities and duties the position requires, effectively represent and communicate the WestBridge culture of being authentic, team-oriented, and participant-centered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and acts as a role model for clinical employees in embracing the WestBridge model of care & culture of being flexible, mobile & responsive.
  • Promotes and upholds the clinical philosophy and organizational mission in all WestBridge levels of care. This includes training for staff to understand and adhere to the clinical model of care and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates closely with Chief of Clinical Services to support new or ongoing clinical initiatives, quality assurance and improvement projects, and to ensure that services provided meet standards of care.
  • Upholds clinical recommendations and ensures appropriate and timely delivery of services (staff follow through on participant engagements, groups, etc.).
  • In accordance with acuity, census, and evolving needs, manages time between residential and community integration programs to provide clinical oversight, direction, and in-vivo coaching to staff.
  • Clinically guides residential shift exchanges and CIP morning/planning meetings, fostering an environment of team empowerment, problem solving and planning.
  • Monitors participant treatment provision by the clinical teams per Participant Achievement Agendas (treatment plans). Works collaboratively with the teams to design, implement, and revise clinical intervention strategies based on the stage of change for participants in all levels of care including through transition processes.
  • Collaborates with Leadership to respond promptly and effectively to customer complaints, family member concerns, and community public relations issues.
  • Assesses clinical staff for their scope of practice based on experience, education, and observation of skill.
  • Provides individual clinical supervision within scope of practice to staff within the residential and community integration programs. This includes clinical supervision to peer, bachelor, masters-level and licensure-seeking staff.
  • Provides group supervision to residential and community integration teams.
  • Collaborates with applicable program staff on group programming scheduling & facilitator assignments. Assesses and supports the development of group facilitation skills.
  • Collaborates with HR and applicable program leaders around hiring and new staff orientation.
  • In collaboration with Admissions Team, clinically evaluates, prioritizes and plans for admissions based on acuity of symptoms and social/rehabilitative needs.
  • Participates in direct clinical care as indicated, which may include meet & greets, crisis interventions and clinical assessment.
  • In collaboration with Leadership, upholds and supports program compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Participation in the on-call rotation, to include rotating weeks and holidays.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To perform this position successfully, you must perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Knowledge obtained through completing a Master’s degree curriculum in appropriate discipline from accredited institutions and active licensure in respective discipline (i.e. LCMHC, LICSW, MLADC).
  • Skill and experience of at least 2 years in staff management and supervision. Approved or meets requirements for approval by the NH Board of Mental Health Practice to provide clinical supervision for licensure candidates.
  • Skill and experience in supervising a clinical continuum of care including residential and outpatient programming.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the treatment of co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. This includes skill and experience in delivery and monitoring of Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Knowledge and application of a gender specific, trauma informed model of care for men.
  • Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations governing confidentiality, 42CFR/HIPAA.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal program administration regulations.
  • Demonstrates a high standard of professional conduct and ethical behavior that will enhance the quality of care and encourage positive interactions among staff.
  • Valid driver’s license and appropriate vehicle insurance.
  • Computer skills including but not limited to, electronic medical record, word processing, report writing and spreadsheet applications necessary to generate appropriate reports allocated to the position.
