Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

ABOUT US: Arts in Action Community Charter School opened in the fall of 2011 and Arts in Action Community Middle School opened in the fall of 2016. Both schools are located in East Los Angeles and operate under Schools in Action. Arts in Action strives to provide culturally responsive educational opportunities with hands-on and dynamic arts-integrated instruction taught through the lens of social justice in an inclusive and affirming school setting. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assessing and helping to oversee the social-emotional and behavioral domains in our elementary and middle school
  • Conducting functional behavior assessments and interpreting results for students 
  • Participating in IEP conferences, multi-tiered systems of support team meetings, behavior meetings and department meetings 
  • Providing school-based student and family services
  • Participating in crisis intervention and threat assessment procedures
  • Developing functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
  • Integrating behavioral services into the classroom environment as appropriate.
  • Providing assistance to staff in designing and implementing appropriate academic and behavioral interventions and accommodations for students.
  • Coaching and providing guidance to the social-emotional and behavioral support staff
  • Contribute to school-wide program development that furthers the integration of social, coping, and problem-solving supports in the classroom.
  • Coordinate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive social-emotional services to students and families.
  • Collaborate and participate in professional development for staff, parents, and/or community.
  • Leadership on other tasks as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An earned master's degree or advanced degree of equivalent standard from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Must have current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
  • Possesses a growth mindset and a love of learning
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred

WAGE AND BENEFITS: Starting salary: $75,000-$117,430. Pay starts at a higher rate based on experience and number of educational units/degrees. A competitive benefit package is included. We have a higher salary scale than LAUSD with opportunities for faster advancement and increases in pay.
