SUMMARY
We are seeking a devoted Part-Time Music Teacher, preferably bi-lingual in English and Spanish, to inspire young minds through music at the Basilica School of St.
Paul. The ideal candidate will teach elementary school music, lead student choirs during Wednesday and occasional Saturday masses, as well as assist the church music director in a positive and Catholic identity-filled environment for elementary students.
The Teacher is responsible to provide an appropriate educational atmosphere which encourages positive student learning and to participate in a dynamic setting with other classroom teachers, administrators, curriculum specialists and other staff members in the development and implementation of the school’s programs and goals.

CATHOLIC FAITH
Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
otherwise the teaching contract cannot be renewed.
Must hold or obtain Religious Certification in Levels 1, 2, and 3 within three years of hire and continue ongoing enrichment.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
The ability to communicate, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
Strong command of both written and spoken English language.
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to reach, grasp, feel, and see up close and from afar.
Must be able to use basic office computer hardware and peripherals, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form.
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, pushing and / or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (15 pounds).
A review of this position has excluded the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties.
