SUMMARY
We are seeking a devoted Part-Time Music Teacher, preferably bi-lingual in English and Spanish, to inspire young minds through music at the Basilica School of St. Paul. The ideal candidate will teach elementary school music, lead student choirs during Wednesday and occasional Saturday masses, as well as assist the church music director in a positive and Catholic identity-filled environment for elementary students.
The Teacher is responsible to provide an appropriate educational atmosphere which encourages positive student learning and to participate in a dynamic setting with other classroom teachers, administrators, curriculum specialists and other staff members in the development and implementation of the school’s programs and goals.

*Proficient in reading and teaching music and instruments
*Catholic Identity Integration: Infuse Catholic values into art lessons, promoting spiritual growth and creativity in both traditional and digital art.
*Curriculum Design: Develop a music curriculum aligned with educational and Catholic standards for elementary grades, incorporating various musical techniques.
*Creative Cultivation: Nurture students' musical talents, encouraging self-expression and exploration in both singing and instrumentation.
*Classroom Atmosphere: Establish a positive and inclusive environment that reflects Catholic values, embracing the integration of technology in music education.
*Assessment and Collaboration: Assess student progress and collaborate with colleagues, integrating music into interdisciplinary learning experiences.
*Participation in Mass, Choirs, Music Performances and Competitions: Encourage and facilitate students' participation in music performances, regional competitions, providing opportunities for recognition and growth.
*Previous experience in music education, including leading choir and religious music preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The ability to communicate, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Strong command of both written and spoken English language.
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to reach, grasp, feel, and see up close and from afar. Must be able to use basic office computer hardware and peripherals, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (15 pounds).
