Five Star Management is Hiring a HVAC Technician Near Houston, TX
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, inspect, and maintain HVAC, water chiller, and air compressor systems according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Replace or repair defective components or equipment as needed to ensure optimal system performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in HVAC, water chiller, and air compressor systems.
- Identify the root causes of issues and implement effective repairs and solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Test and calibrate control systems and components to ensure they operate within specified parameters.
- Adjust settings and parameters to optimize system efficiency and performance.
- Conduct performance tests and verify system functionality.
- Respond to emergency service calls to address urgent system breakdowns or failures.
- Work efficiently under pressure to restore system functionality in a timely manner.
- Ensure the safety of yourself and others while performing emergency repairs.
- Replace and upgrade components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, and control boards.
- Select and procure replacement parts and materials as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, especially related to refrigerants and emissions.
- Maintain knowledge of and implement industry best practices.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
- Prepare service reports and documentation for clients and supervisors.
- Provide cost estimates for repairs and parts replacement when necessary.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and new equipment models.
- Participate in training programs and certifications to enhance technical skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC, refrigeration, or related technical certifications preferred.
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician with knowledge of water chiller and air compressor systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, chiller, and compressor systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with refrigerants and EPA certification (if applicable).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying environmental conditions.
- Bilingual
