Moreau Catholic High School is Hiring an Athletics Coach : Rally Squad Near Hayward, CA

Moreau Catholic recruits for part-time, seasonal coaching positions. Our coaches instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of team and individual success. Coaches offer instruction that will lead to the formation of positive attitudes toward healthy competition, including an appreciation for the value of teamwork, the importance of commitment, and hard work to achieve goals. Seasonal stipends range from $500 - $4,000.

Rally Squad Head Coach

The Head Coach/Advisor is responsible for coaching student athletes in competitive cheerleading techniques to prepare them for events or competition. At the same time supports students while they achieve academically. The coach motivates student-athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport, a camaraderie amongst each other while giving students a well rounded education as a student-athlete.

Essential Duties

  • Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages students to participate
  • Works with cheerleaders during practices and meets.
  • Assesses skills and assigns team positions.
  • Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development.
  • Works with theAthletics Director in scheduling facilities for practices and competition.
  • Coaches and instructs cheerleaders, individually or in groups,regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
  • Observes cheerleaders, during events and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior and always provides proper supervision of students.
  • Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met.
  • Develops and oversees routines for both cheer and song.
  • Follows established procedures in the event of an injury.
  • Conferences with parents/guardians, as necessary,regarding the performance oftheir student.
  • Follows state, regional, and districtregulations governing the program.
  • Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conducttowards cheerleaders, officials, and spectators.
  • Acts as a team representative and promotes cheerleading by communicating with the media, booster clubs, service clubs, and other organizations as directed and approved by the Athletic Director.
  • Follows established procedures for supplies and uniforms.
  • Works with theAthletic Director to develop a policy for awards and submits a list of award winners at the end of the season.
  • Participates in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, and pep rallies.
  • Maintains updated physicals, emergency information, insurance records through our Appryse system and maintains equipment inventory
  • Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
  • Attends staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
  • Performs at boys & girls games
  • Supervise assistant coaches
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport, effective coaching techniques and skills, establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students and maintain communication skills with Teachers, Parents, Athletic Director, and Students via phone, email, and text.
  • Must be knowledgeable in USA Competition rules and regulations and choreography skills
  • Be organized, dependable and promotes unity amongst team

Stipend Compensation of $2,000 - $3,500
