Moreau Catholic High School, a coeducational high school in the Holy Cross tradition, is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Physical Education Teacher starting with the 2024-2025 academic school year.
Founded in 1965 under the sponsorship of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Moreau Catholic High School emphasizes college-preparatory excellence in all programs designed to facilitate the informative, formative, and transformative needs of the individual student. Located approximately 25 miles southeast of San Francisco, in Hayward, California, the school is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). With 784 students, the co-educational student body reflects the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the Bay Area, and the school has enjoyed a 99% collegiate matriculation. Our graduating seniors have been accepted into 1,000 universities and colleges yearly, and have garnered, on average, between $11-14 million in scholarships and grants.
This position requires possession of a clear or preliminary California Teaching Credential (or working towards one), and a Bachelor's degree. Experience in instructional technology is desired. High school teaching experience is required. A candidate possessing significant experience with ELD students and/or international student programs is a plus.
In addition to performing the many roles of a full-time teacher, this individual will be able to:
- Maintain high standards of student performance, and engage students using a variety of pedagogical methods.
- Demonstrate and promote the responsible use of technology as a learning tool.
- Provide help for students outside of class time.
- Collaborate with other members of the department.
- Establish a learning environment where every student's right to learn is respected.
Moreau Catholic offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package, including additional stipend for a Masters or Doctorate degree.
Annual compensation based on Moreau’s Teacher Salary Scale: $61,750 - $116,850
