Arbor Diagnostics is Hiring a Phlebotomist (Floater) - (A10113) Near Denver, CO

Job Summary:

This position provides phlebotomy coverage for field services including all In-Office Phlebotomists and Patient Service Centers in assigned areas. Phlebotomy Floaters are a critical part of the Phlebotomy Team. They provide coverage for PTO and vacancies at various locations as needed. They are expected to have superior customer service skills and be adaptable to the nuances of different locations. The Phlebotomy Floater is responsible for accurately obtaining blood samples via venipuncture collection procedures with minimum patient discomfort. This role provides care to patients whose ages range from pediatric to geriatric and ensures specimen integrity by adhering to the laboratory's procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing. The Phlebotomy Floater adheres to departmental policies and procedures, including departmental programs, quality control, quality assurance, and safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Provides coverage in multiple offices as business needs arise with the flexibility of different schedules.

· Possesses a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

· Has reliable transportation.

· Follows laboratory procedures for specimen collection and handling.

· Accurately enters patient data into the electronic lab information system or manually.

· Correctly identifies patient data and accurately labels specimens.

· Performs functions appropriately and uses time management skills to achieve departmental goals.

· Follows all established guidelines and adheres to company policies and procedures.

· Packs and prepares samples for specimen shipment and/or transport.

· Communicates efficiently and timely with leadership to address and report all issues observed in the field.

· Submits all travel expenses timely and efficiently to management for processing.

· Has flexibility for approximately 90% of travel.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma, or equivalent required.

· Certification through ASCP / AMT.

· 5 years of full-time phlebotomy experience.

· 1-year Phlebotomy Floater experience.

· Knowledge of multiple EMR systems.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to alternate between standing, sitting, and walking.

· Frequent use of hands.

· Must be able to talk and hear.

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
