RESIDENTIAL WORKER

GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: The Residential Worker is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day function in the house. This includes securing the well-being and safety of the residents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Track unusual and major incidents
• Participates in staff meetings and other meetings as appropriate
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Providing support and guidance to the individuals in the house to ensure the following
  • That the house, the vehicles and the equipment are safe, operational and in good working order.
  • That the fundamental rights of each adult in the house are protected
• Residential Workers are bound by an 8 hour shift.
• Responsible for overseeing all cleaning duties by clients.
• Responsible for cleaning anything that have not been completed by the clients.
  • 3pm-11pm
    • Supervising and assisting the individuals in the house with menus, supervising food preparation, housekeeping, personal care, laundry and other activities of daily living.
    • Monitoring appropriate leisure, social and daily living activities in the residence and in the community.

• Assuming responsibility for the individuals in the house during the day when they are unable to attend the day program (e.g. for illness, inclement weather, etc.). The supervisor will make every effort to arrange coverage.
  • Meeting deadlines and completing all necessary paperwork. This includes quarterly reports, monthly reports, attendance records, weight charts, house receipts, daily log book, etc.
  • The Residential Worker shall be trained by Real House, Inc.’s APN and will carry out the duties of Medication Technician
  • 11pm-7am
    • During the hours of 11pm-7am, responsibilities include monitor medication, report emergency incidents, a.m. wake up call, and urine screens. 7

11pm-7am

Responsibilities include providing assistance to the extent necessary for each of the individuals in the home to prepare for their day. Monitor cleaning and the use of the kitchen and other duties as assigned. Filing daily movement sheets, client rosters, and group sign in sheets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required and Preferred Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• Good oral and written English skills.
• If an individual is in recovery, five-six years of sustained recovery is required.
• Ability to work well within a team environment.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office and web-based application.
• Ability to answer telephone calls in a professional manner and assists callers
• The Residential Worker must be at least 25 years

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Occasionally required to stand and walk.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid New Jersey driver’s license and personal automobile and/or access to an automobile.
• CPR and First Aid
• Must successfully pass a background check prior to hire.
