Successful candidates will be based out of our Kelso, WA location and will be deployed within our Environmental or Fuel Divisions.

Our Environmental team engages in a wide array of projects including:

• Remedial treatment
• Stormwater system installation and maintenance
• Contaminated site remediation
• Demolition
• Culvert installation

Our Fuel/Tank team tackles a variety of scenarios including:

• Ground up fuel station construction
• Underground and aboveground tank install/decommission
• Fueling station install and upgrade
• Marine fuel system work

Recently Completed Projects

Our Environmental team recently completed a large soil remediation and demolition project on the Washington coast. We had the opportunity to clean up an abandoned fuel station and outbuildings. The crew on this project completed many tasks including:

• Operating heavy equipment to demolish the fuel station and outbuildings
• Running a pump to remove contaminated groundwater
• Excavating and loading out over 5,000 cubic yards of petroleum contaminated soil
• Backfilling with clean soil to restore the site to a useable state
• Removing and decommissioning a 20,000-gallon underground storage tank

Our Fuel team previously completed the installation of the retail and truck fuel systems, including tanks, for a ground-up truck stop and convenience store in Castle Rock, WA. Our on-going relationship with this client resulted in completion of the following tasks:

• Excavate, prep, and shore tank holes for five underground storage tanks
• Set and backfill tank next to tank top with pea gravel
• Excavate and pour 20 total canopy footings for a 34’ x 139’ retail canopy and 30’ x 169’ truck canopy
• Install over 1 mile of various sized piping
• Set 20 total dispensers, varying in product they handle, and install associated equipment

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs. independently
• Current licenses and certifications necessary to operate a motor vehicle and equipment
• Physical ability to climb, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Ability to work with a team to achieve job tasks
• Must be a self‐driven and resourceful professional with the ability to solve problems
• An ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment
• Must be able to safely wear a respirator

Preferred Certifications & Training

• 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher (required pre-employment)
• Certified Forklift Operator
• CPR, First Aid/AED Certification
• Bloodborne Pathogen Certification
• TWIC Card

Out‐of‐area and overnight travel is expected in this position. AEC serves customers throughout the Pacific Northwest including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana. Due to the expectation of travel, we pay for lodging as well as a generous per diem rate for meals and incidental expenses.

Salary Range: $20 to $30/hour depending on experience. Opportunities for advancement and increased responsibilities exist for exceptional performers.
