Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Facility Maintenance Lead.

Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our San Diego, CA-92154 location and reports to the Facilities Manager.

Position Summary:

The Facility Maintenance Lead will ensure the San Diego based facilities are operational and in compliance with state and local standards; including overseeing permit requirements.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program
• Oversee evaluations, cost estimating, permitting and installations of new equipment or facilities modifications.
• Repair and maintain industrial equipment and facilities; AC & DC control circuits and wiring, PLC controls, pneumatic and hydraulic components, machinery, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, etc.
• Programming programmable logic controllers (PLCs) preferred
• Track and log maintenance costs
• Monitor equipment and operations to meet qualify and safety standards
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems, talking to operators or supervisors, manufacturer’s manual and using precision measuring and testing equipment
• Maintain maintenance supplies by anticipating needed equipment and supplies
• Act as a project manager and oversee subcontractors and projects

Non-Essential Functions: 

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested

Required Education and Experience:

• Requires 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance; high/low voltage, AC/DC, PLC control
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair high voltage, low voltage, AC/DC, PLC control and equipment
• Solid knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
• Formal training or certification is a huge Plus. 
• Must have strong mechanical skills
• Must be familiar with HVAC systems and process cooling/heating equipment and controls
• Basic welding and machining skills
• Must be familiar with commercial/industrial plumbing and waste treatment
• Knowledge of environmental health and safety protocols
• Must be a competent fabricator
• Must be able to generate reports estimate and track costs
• Must be able to effectively manage others including subcontractors, janitorial staff, etc.

Compensation:

The hourly range for this position falls within $28-$35. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and other factors permitted by law.
