JOB To assist in the supervision, assigning and review of work of staff responsible for the operations of the Commercial Sanitation, Residential Sanitation and Operation Pride Divisions within Public Utilities. Assist in coordinating assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public; and to provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Sanitation Superintendent; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Assist in the planning, prioritization, assigning, supervision and reviewing of the work of staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City’s Commercial Sanitation, Residential Sanitation and Operation Pride departments.Participate in the preparation and administration of the Commercial Sanitation, Residential Sanitation and Operation Pride department budgets; submit budget recommendations; complete purchase requisitions; monitor expenditures.Participate in the selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff and training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures.Maintain records of Sanitation customers including residential and commercial accounts; work with customer service on accounts receivable billing; generate financial reports on operations and activities.Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; apply approved policies and procedures.Address customer concerns, questions, and complaints and provide information.Review various analysis and reports and make recommendations; prepare analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities.
