POSITION SUMMARY:

Must be a former Foreign Area Officer (FAO) or person with extensive FAO-related experience as the principal key personnel and point of reference for a contract to develop an Advanced Language Enhancement Course (ALEC). This subject matter expert is deemed essential by the Government to better assure alignment of the training exercises to the specific linguistic needs of the primary target audience, namely other FAOs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The FAO-SME works as part of a team to provide review training products as they are developed to provide the benefit of their experience as a FAO.
• Performs as part of a team working with native linguists and software developers to develop effective training simulations.
• Review and provide input to lesson plans, practical exercises, and interactive media instruction products.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED:

• - and familiarity with best practices of online course content delivery.
• Required: A bachelor’s degree
• Required Five (5) years’ experience as a FAO

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Work in an office environment and conduct professional tasks such as operate computers, projection technology, smartboards, phones, and other instructional/learning devices and materials
• Job may entail both standing and sitting for long periods of time with regular breaks
• Ability to use a computer monitor for extended periods of time

This is a part time position and the pay is based on experience. The hourly rate range is between $50-$75 per hour.
