Metro Aviation, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Production Shop Supervisor for our PMA Production Shop located in Shreveport, Louisiana, at Metro Aviation, Inc. Headquarters.

Job Objective

The Assistant Production Shop Supervisor is responsible to assist and work alongside the Production Shop Supervisor to plan and meet production requirements of aircraft completions and sales orders.

Essential Functions

• Operate multiple fabricating machines
• Shear
• Mill
• CNC Routers
• Press Brake
• Fabricate aircraft parts from engineering drawings
• Assist with reviewing documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities
• Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands
• Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. Report any concerns to the Production Shop Supervisor
• Provide on-site training, as directed by the Production Shop Supervisor
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

• Knowledge of production fabrication machinery
•  Extensive knowledge of manufacturing requirements and planning
•  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•  Proficient with computerized materials control programs
•  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
•  Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings 
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods

Education & Experience

• At least five (5) years of aircraft component and fabrication experience required

Physical Demands

• Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling
•  Climbing heights on various equipment
•  Use of heavy machinery
•  Lifting up to 50 or more pounds

Work Environment

• Indoor/outdoor shop environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures
•  Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
•  Moderate to loud noise level

Work Status, Schedule, Travel

•  Full-time
•  Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
•  Overtime dependent on workload
