Job Objective:
As the store assistant, you help will provide effective and efficient daily operation of the store, ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively done.
What You Will Do:
- Assist people with questions, donations, and general information
- Price bric-a-brac and placing on shelves
- Place newer and higher priced items on a special table to look up and price.
- Hang clothing when needed
- Sort and separate holiday item's
- Help check drop box daily- empty when necessary
- End of shift- Clear sorting tables, sweep floor, clean up your area
- Assist with day-to-day store needs
- Other tasks as needed by leadership
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed and all background check results will be reviewed.
Experience: 2 years retail experience preferred
Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army's
Drivers' qualification standard; must complete Safe from Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems
