Administer basic first aid and screen ill or injured students in accordance with State laws and district regulations; assist with health testing programs(vision, hearing, etc); prepare and maintain a variety of records, files and reports
Administer medications to students who have completed medical authorization form on file
Maintain the health office in a clean, orderly and safe condition;assisting in maintaining inventory and order first aid supplies(from district nurse)as necessary
Prepare, maintain and enter health related information on forms in student management system
Operate standard office and medical equipment as required
Knowledge of basic first aid and age appropriate CPR techniques
Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
Health office environment, constant interruptions
Hazards-exposure to and potential contact with blood and other bodily fluids
Spanish fluency preferred
High school diploma and at least one year of medical office experience including familiarity with databases
