Summary The
Audio/Visual (A/V) Coordinator supports the mission of The Museum of Flight by coordinating and planning departmental equipment and staff for Museum events, both private and public. This position attends weekly event meetings, promptly answers internal staff and clients' questions, ensures rooms and spaces are set to client's expectations, and event technicians are briefed on the events they will staff. Responsible for maintaining internal Museum rental equipment inventory and submitting requests for repairs to Audio/Visual Manager. This position requires operating and maintaining Audio Visual equipment throughout the facility and assists the A/V team with set-up of events.

- Track and report details of upcoming private and internal events to Audio/Visual team.
- Provide and ensure timely and accurate communication between Museum events and programs departments and Audio/Visual staff.
- Plan and coordinate equipment and personnel for private and public Museum events.
- Document recurring event needs, as well as standard procedures, setups, and protocols. Keep records of repeating events and major equipment usage.
- Assist with A/V event setups and provide technical support to internal and private event clients.
- Operate and maintain audio-visual equipment, computers, and lighting for support of private events, public programs, exhibits, and staff requirements.
- Assist in the maintenance of exhibit and rental A/V equipment
- Operate equipment for hybrid meetings when needed.
- Operate theatre systems and equipment as assigned.
- Occasional operation of video recording equipment is required
- Assist in the maintenance and installation of exhibits, when applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education & Experience - A degree in an audio-visual or an event production related field is preferred, or commensurate knowledge of the subject. Two (2) years of direct work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in audio/visual system operation/setup.
- Two (2) years' work experience providing coordination, administrative support, and customer service; in a live event environment.
Knowledge - Comprehensive understanding of audio-visual systems.
- Possess an in-depth understanding of PA systems, video switching, and projection systems.
- Knowledge of Windows, Mac, and tablet display configurations.
- Basic electrical, electronic, and mechanical knowledge.
Skills - Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a diverse group of staff, clients, and vendors at all levels.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for video display and audio systems.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office/365.
Abilities - Ability to plan and troubleshoot audio/visual systems for various events of all sizes (e.g. projectors, TV screens, PA systems, wireless microphones).
- Ability to use technology (such as Smartsheet, Asana) to handle planning and prioritization of upcoming workload.
- Ability to successfully adapt to changing situations and shifting priorities
License & Certifications - Able to fulfill in-house certification in the operation of facilities' equipment that includes scissor lifts.

- Schedule is set by the supervisor with flexibility for evening and variable hours based on Museum need.

- Works in a normal office environment, including prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive wrist and arm movement.
- The ability to focus, bend, carry, reach to the side, front and overhead, push, pull, walk, stand, twist and squat, grab, squeeze are repetitive physical requirements of this position.
- Ability to move through physical Museum campus spaces required including occasionally outdoors in variable weather.
- Requires working with low voltage electricity mechanical equipment that require strict adherence to safety guidelines
- This position works near machinery and aircraft, next to an active airport.
- Must be able to occasionally climb ladders and stairs, access tight and confined spaces, work on elevated catwalks, ladders, and lifts.

Compensation The hourly range for this position is $22.00to $30.00depending on experience.
